I am a multi-disciplinary artist and bodyworker who creates work about the body and its innate connection to the natural environment. My studio is on the edge of the land on the Welsh coast and the wild, raw, elemental place where I live is an infinite source of inspiration to my practice. The wild, silent places are where I can sense the natural intelligence within nature that simultaneously exists within my body.

 

Making art is my way of giving form & imagery to this unseen, natural, living, sensed intelligence, existing within every living thing.​ I am interested in the concept of reimagining the form of the body as form less, no longer confined within a delicate, permeable skin. I am curious to imagine the form of ourselves where we lose the container of our soft tissue mass, organs, bones and fluids. What are we if we no longer have a boundary that defines where we start and end? What is our form if we merge with nature?

 

My work explores this concept of the “I” or “me” dissolving as the body flows out of its form. There is no longer a barrier between me and nature, inner worlds and outer worlds are one. There's no becoming nature or being connected to nature, as nature is my body and my body is nature.
