Fine Art
practice
Katie studied Fine Art Sculpture at the University of Brighton before training to be a secondary school art teacher and a senior lecturer. Katie taught on the Art and Design Foundation Course at the University for the Creative Arts in Canterbury, Kent, managing a design department for fifteen years. Having children prompted a change of career by retraining as a complementary therapist.
Katie combines her role as a complementary therapist practicing from Noddfa in West Wales alongside her practice as an artist. Katie’s artwork is inspired by her work with the body as a complementary therapist & the natural world that surrounds her living in Moylegrove. She sees her bodywork practice and art practice as one entity as both practices continuously influence & inspire one another, overlapping & entwining.

Katie's art work is inspired by her body work practice, ideas are portrayed through drawing, painting, embroidery, garments, photography, collage, mixed media in order to explore the body's inner and outer landscapes.

Katie's art work is held in private collections and she has exhibited in solo and group shows throughout the UK.
