Sofa So Good, national competition,
The Foyer Gallery, Aberdeen
During July 2006 i won the national competition, Sofa So Good with my performance piece of work, Glue. The exhibition was organised by the charity Instant Neighbour, an organisation which donates furntiture, food parcels, the basic essentials, to people who need it but can not afford such items. The competition attracted artists from all over the country and the sixteen finalisits were invited to show their entries at the Foyer Gallery in Aberdeen.
As part of the prize i have the opportunity to exhibit new work in the Foyer Gallery, next July and August in a solo exhibition. Therefore i am already considering what work i will create for this exciting opportunity. Currently, i am considering working with the Instant Neighbour charity to generate a new project, working with the people who Instant Neighbour are working with so that we can produce some work inspired by the charity and the residents of Aberdeen.
This picture shows the winning piece titled Glue, a video of a private performance, please view my portfolio pages for more details on the piece of work.
