Katie studied Fine Art sculpture at the University of Brighton, graduating in 2000. Since then she has maintained her practice as a Fine Artist, exhibiting her work throughout the UK and Europe, in Solo and group exhibitions. In addition to her Fine Art practice, Katie is a lecturer in 3d design at the UCA in Canterbury. She combines this with working as an artist/educator for organisations such as Creative Partnerships, Turner Contemporary, Kent Adult Education, Canterbury Christchurch University and primary/secondary schools in Kent. Katie is also involved with art events within Kent, having been the director of Margate Rocks Art and Ecology Festival in 2007-2008. Primarily, Katie is a practicing artist working in a range of media. Katie works from her studio at the Pie Factory Studios in the Old Town of Margate. Her work is a combination of sculpture, fashion, jewellery and product design and her inspirations come from her intrigue with objects, history, space and geography. Her creations are often made to be worn or used like pieces of jewelery or prosthetic limbs that aid, assist, adorn and embellish the female body. Katie's art works have been exhibited in galleries throughout the UK, Europe and on her website. Her work is held in private collections throughout the UK. ![]() |
